Hello Dolly Cake
My mother has been making this as long as I can remember and I never get tired of it.
Ingredients:
- 1 stick or 1/4 lb butter
- 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
- 1 cup shredded coconut
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
Directions:
- Melt the butter and put it in the bottom of a 9-inch square pan
- Layer the graham crackers, coconut, chocolate chips, and walnuts in the order listed above
- Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the top
- Bake at 350° F for 30 minutes
- Cut it into 1 inch squares when cooled

July 22nd, 2009 at 11:42 amMy mother-in-law made this more than 40 years ago. Recipe was lost, she kept everything in her head and also had baking secrets. Besides that, I was busy raising 7 children.Recently remembered the cake/bars. I knew it would be on the inter-net. Thank you, Doug.
