Death by Chocolate

I ate something called “Death by Chocolate” but it only made me stronger

That led me to wonder how many “Death by Chocolate” recipes were out there, and which one of them was the deadliest. So I bring to you…

MORTAL CHOCOLATE!

Below I have collected links to all the “Death by Chocolate” recipes I could find, 181 of them. If you find more, please let me know but I think the list pretty well covers it all. I will admit that I didn’t look at pages 7-9 of the google search (100 results per page).

If you find a recipe that isn’t named Death by Chocolate, but you think it is a contender that works too, but you should change the name to have ‘Death’ and ‘Chocolate’ in it. I didn’t knowingly list any recipes from the books “Death by Chocolate,” “Death by Chocolate Cake,” or “Death by Chocolate Cookies,” not that they can’t be used.

There might still be duplicates. I allowed a number of nearly the same recipes in the trifle section, but they should all have slight variations. If you see any duplicates or broken links, please let me know.

Winners list their round and are also in one place at the bottom.

Items in italics, while likely good, have been tried and deemed not deadly enough.

Ive had the real Death by Chocolate cookbook. The inside layer of the cake is to be filled with a Chocolate Ganache which is actually a chocolate mousse with the consistancy of frosting. To make the Ganache simply bring just to a boil over high heat 8 oz of heavy cream, add 8oz of chopped fine dark, semisweet or even milk chocolate and stir until blended,,,depending on the room temperature, temperature of the pan, etc, let cool until of spreadding consistancy. This filling far outweights any frosting middle and is pure chocolate decadance. If you also find the recipe for a flourless dark chocolate cake, make into 3 layers, fill with ganache and frost using whatever is your favorite chocolate frosting. With ur imagination running wild, u can also add variations to this,,,simply by pressing halved strawberries, raspberries or whatever u want into the ganache when applying it for the filling. Or, u can add a bit of rum extract, almost extract, etc. the possibilities are endless. U can garnish the cake with whatever u feel is good too for the presentation. For a true chocoholic, this is the cake u will absolutely adore.

By the way, if u want to make a light and fluffy mousse, simply do the same recipe for the ganache but use 12oz of heavy cream per 8 oz chocolate…..u can whip it to make it lighter for your mousse goblets, etc. Take a potato peeler with a room temperature chocolate bar and make chocolate swirls for garnish. Happy chocolating!!!

Would you kindly translate your website into German since I’m not so comfortable reading it in English? I’m getting tired of using Google Translate all the time, there is a little WordPress plugin called like global translator which will translate all your posts automatically- this will make reading articleson your awesome blog even more cosy. Cheers dude, Ruben Walborn!

I’ve installed the plugin but it looks like my theme isn’t compatible with it. I’m going to have to investigate further next week when I get the chance.
