Cheap movie buys

Yesterday we went to the video store and didn’t rent anything, but then we noticed they had a lot outside that was for sale. Clearing out things that weren’t renting so much. All the DVD discs were flawless or nearlyflawless and for $25 we got: The Cider House Rules (VHS) Collateral (DVD) – Haven’t seen […]

Must Love Dogs

Continuing with the romantic comedy track we saw “Must Love Dogs” yesterday. I mostly wanted to see it because I like watching John Cusack and Elizabeth Perkins. A lot of movies based on books have an empty feel to them that you can sense even without knowing that it’s an adaptation. This movie manages to […]

Hitch

Yay! I finally saw Hitch and I liked it as much as I thought I would. The funny bits were funny and the non-funny bits were done well. The only odd thing was the high-speed transitions between the two. Not quite the standard romantic comedy. Check it out.

House of 1000 Corpses

My sister loves horror movies. She can’t get enough of them, and “House of 1000 Corpses” is one of her favorite. She loved it so much that took the day off work to see the sequel (currently in theaters) “The Devil’s Rejects“. Anyway, I decided I shoudl see why she liked it so much and […]

Eulogy

I finally got to see “Eulogy” and I laughed pretty much all the way through it. I still haven’t been to the library to check out their selection, and we just checked for Eulogy because we were returning “Saw” (still haven’t seen). Anyway, “Eulogy” is a darkish comedy about a messed up family coming home […]

The Mask of Zorro

Before “Batman Begins” we saw a trailer for “The Legend of Zorro” and I was very excited because I quite liked “The Mask of Zorro.” Last night I sat down and watched TMoZ again and I liked it just as much as the first time. Everything is just right about this movie and I hope […]

Batman Begins

As usual, probably spoilers here… I think I like this batman more than the previous ones. I liked his back story and how it was told and I would have even liked some more. I liked how his teacher became his enemy. I liked the look of Gotham and how it looked old and modern […]

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

MUMBLER!! It’s been a long time since I’ve read the book. Longer than it has been since I saw the older version of this movie. There is more story in this one than the original movie at the very least because you only have oompa loompa songs (which are great). I loved the look, I […]

Wedding Crashers

Possible spoilers ahead. I wanted to see this because I like Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn and I wasn’t disappointed. It starts out at a frantic pace and most of the wedding crashing happens in the first 15 minutes, after which they get tangled up in one family with really funny results. Not every joke […]

Save The Last Dance

Last night I needed to find the USB floppy drive so I could fix my computer. Since there is a lot of stuff still piled in the tv room from the office flood I needed to look there. I decided to put on a movie while I searched and after finding the floppy drive, instead […]
