House gets painted!
Well the pressure wash happened on Saturday and today work continues. I expect by the end of the week we’ll have a different looking house. Then we get to move into an RV while the floors are getting done.

Not in using it, but in the stuff we got to put in to Darlene’s bathroom. Since the new light is a bit taller (it extends above and below the base), the medicine cabinet (which is the same size as the old one) won’t fir in the space the old one used to. The top […]
Removed the rest of the master bedroom carpet Got a new light for Darlene’s bathroom Got a new mirror/cabinet for Darlene’s bathroom Got a towell rack for Darlene’s bathroom (still have to install all 3) Pulled up all the bricks in the planters in front Got a load of fill dirt – Thanks to Joel […]
The old disconnected floor heater is finally out of the hole. I had to crawl back under the house today to disconnect one more copper wire and to flatten some metal I had tried prying in an attempt to remove one of the screws. Then I had to remove the metal frame in the wall […]
Last night we pulled the carpet from 2/3 of the master bedroom. That used to be high quality carpet and I learned that then the installation isn’t too old that it’s pretty easy to remove carpet tack strips in mostly one piece. The floors in the master bedroom are in really good shape over all. […]
I got the floor heater completely disconnected this weekend. I will say that it is very sturdy and well made. The floor guy is going to come by today to remove it so he can see what he needs to do to patch the floor which saves me from finding someone to help lift it […]
Yesterday Nicole and I went to Home Depot in Watsonville to get a new medicine cabinet for Dar’s bathroom. We find the medicine cabinets and even find one we like. Then we find that they don’t have any so we go to the customer service desk to special order it. The CS desk says they […]
Yesterday we ripped ou tthe medicine cabinet in Dar’s bathroom. Today we’ll go to Home Depot to look for a decent replacement. We put the old one in the free pile and someone took the doors. I guess they just wanted the mirrors to hang in their house. Today I have to pull out the […]
Painting will start today on Dar’s bathroom. Yay! Tomorrow morning I’ll put on my new scooter tire and that will be yay too! Then I’ll remove the floor heater to prepare for floor repairs and I’ll start work on the washing machine drain.
So Nicole moved everything out of her room and started to pull up the carpet. I finished removing the carpet when I got home. The floors underneath look to be in pretty good shape overall. We still need to remove the carpet tack strips though. Hopefully tonight I’ll get to the ceiling light in the […]
