Tuesday Media Roundup #44

Games: Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box – I’ve finally finished up the second Professor Layton game. I liked the setting and feel of this game better than the first one. The animation for the cut-scenes are both increased in amount and in quality. I think there are a few cases of poor wording of […]

Tuesday Media Roundup #43

Books: I’ve been avoiding books this year because I’m supposed to be reading War & Peace. I still haven’t picked that up again since the first attempt, but it’s in my backpack to start tomorrow. That being said, I get “Top Chef: The Quickfire Cookbook” as a gift and I read that. It has cast […]

Sonic and the Secret Rings

I rented Sonic and the Secret Rings and it is definitely the nicest looking Wii game I’ve played so far. I like how the story is told with lightly animated storyboards. The voice acting doesn’t make me cringe in pain like with older 3D Sonic games. This was supposed to be the 3D Sonic that […]

My first Wii injury

My boss, who is about to leave, used to develop video games and he wanted to see the Wii, so I brought it in this morning so he could try it out. He was having fun with tennis and then he wanted me to demonstrate bowling. I was careful to avoid the conference room table, […]

Tuesday Media Roundup #18

Premonition was…. not so good. After awhile you’re wishing for some progress and when you get some progress you’re like “uh huh, sure.” I’m going to go into a few spoilers here…. The moment where it completely lost it for me is when, seeing that she needed to consult someone about premonitions, goes to the […]

Sudoku completed

Yay! I’ve now completed all 120 (including 12 training puzzles) in Brain Age for the Nintendo DS. I thought they were all pretty easy until the last seven. Those all took around 30 minutes each.

My brain is old!

(I’m posting more today because I have nothing to do except wait for QA to find bugs for me to fix.) Last night I bought Brain Age for the Nintendo DS. It was made based on the research of Japanese neuroscientist. He found certain types of exercises stimulated blood flow to various areas of the […]

True Crime: Streets of LA

I bought this game because it was in the bargain bin and the novelty of driving around a real model of LA sounded fun. You play a copy who doesn’t play by the rules so you can drive over anything and take other people’s cars when yours gets too beat up. This game has a […]

WarioWare Twisted

I decided I needed a new GameBoy Advance game and having liked the original WarioWare I decided this was going to be it. It uses a gyroscope in it so most of the game action is performed through turning the GameBoy Advance and occasional use of the A button. For those of you who never […]

The new game is P.N.03

I opened it yesterday which leaves Metroid Prime, True Crime: Streets of LA, and Gladius unopened. I think this game is shorter than Wario World. If this were on arcade controls you would probably finish this game in 1.5 hours. It will fire as fast as you can press the fire button. Normal holding of […]
