What’s the deal with the tank-tops?
I’ve been seeing a lot of women wearing tank-tops over other tops lately with the extreme seen yesterday of one woman wearing three tank-tops. Has this been going on for awhile and I just now noticed it? Is this like the dress with pants thing (which strangely I didn’t think as odd)?
There seems to be a trend, in general, of “sheer” or “layering” clothes right now – tank, T and long-sleeved. I don’t get it, frankly. What’s the point except for the companies to convince you you need to spend more money?
August 6th, 2005 at 7:31 amI took it as something like how there was a take off of the preppy look when girls wore sweater vests over a long sleeved shirt, which was unbuttoned showing a tshirt.
But since it’s so hot, it’s using tanks.
I don’t think there is much thought process though. When I was in high school, I wore double tanks primarily because then I could wear something that was blue and purple at the same time.
But then I’m told that I’m strange.
