For our Eleventh anniversary, we went to Tahoe. We stayed at the Tahoe Black Bear in South Lake. The place was lovely. Kevin and Jerry set us up with dinner reservations at two fantastic, yummy restaurants - Cafe Fiore and Evans. We had leftovers and yummy memories for a few days. (If you had to pick one, I say Fiore - more variety and more my flavoring choices. Oh and the proprietary white chocolate ice cream.)

We spent the bulk of our one full day in Tahoe hiking down to Vikingsholm. You can't do this in the winter time because it's snowed in (duh) so we took our time walking down. "One mile down, three miles back up" they say - and the path was pretty steep. You go from 6600 feet down to 6300 feet in a mile - with just one switchback. But it was worth the walk, the view was just lovely from the shore-side, and Vikingsholm itself was charming. We spent longer than any other tour people - they had to kick us out.
